The National Standard “Paper-Based Composite Materials for Aseptic Liquid-Food Packaging” (GB/T 18706-2025), proposed and administered by the National Technical Committee on Packaging Standardization and developed under the leadership of Nanjing Pengli together with more than ten other organizations, has been formally approved and released. The standard will enter into full force on 1 January 2026.

As a new, environmentally friendly packaging material, paper-based composites for aseptic liquid-food packaging represent a marked advance over conventional plastics, significantly reducing environmental pollution and aligning with current trends in green development. The introduction and implementation of this standard will provide unified, normative technical guidance for the manufacture of paper packaging, enabling rapid and comprehensive improvements in product quality and better satisfying consumers’ growing demand for high-quality solutions.
